Vacations are a wonderful thing !!

Hope Everyone is doing well !! I'm on vacation this week and it has been great so far - I had Joshie over the weekend and we had so much fun ... He is a great kid !! Today I had a wonderful cropping day with friends ... I even finished a few projects !!! I love this not working thing !!

A Rainy Sunday & a Layout

Sometimes I really love a rainy day !! It gives me a reason to stay in and be LAZY ! I haven't scrapped in a week or so ... I needed a break after finishing up lots of projects !! I find the break helps me regroup and regain creativity ! I went through some supplies and did alot of purging ... my purging goes to a great friend who teaches scrapbooking classes to younger girls and she appreciates all the supplies she can acquire ... a win-win !! I got rid of ALOT of older sketches - which I keep on hand for inspiration - to make way for fun,new sketches  !! Not scrapping also gives me more time to blog and Facebook which is always FUN !!

I had some leftovers from Right at Home's GORGEOUS "Sweet Summertime Kit" so I put this page together !! I LOVE October Afternoon's papers and the "Let's Fly a Kite" collection is so fun to create with. Here's my page with some close-ups. Looking back at this page I believe I should have resized the photo to 4 x 6 ... the 3.5 x 5 looks a bit "lost" on the page !! When I'm a bit more ambitious, I'll resize the pic and then repost this layout to see what you think !! TFL and have a great week. Oh yah, ONE MORE WEEK UNTIL MY VACATION !!! AMEN !!!

 

Hello Everyone !! Summer is certainly FLYING by ... can you believe it's mid-August already ?!?!?! Hope your are all enjoying this wonderful season !!

I wanted to hop on to share a few layouts I created from Right at Home's June Monthly Kit !! This was our second kit and was so much FUN to work with ! I got a little journal crazy on this page but when the topic is Cape Cod I apparently have alot to say !!

 

I masked an area of the page with a word lace cut paper and inked over it. Then I highlighted those words in my journaling !!

 

 

I added some tickets to an envelope and used red Baker's Twine as a cute accent !!
 

The next layout features one of my all-time FAV photo of Josh !! He was playing with a hose and was covered in mud and couldn't have been happier !! This was a quick page and is a great design to use up scraps !! I punched different sized circles in various patterened papers including some circle journaling spots !

I LOVE tickets so I was thrilled that these were included in the monthly kit !! Above the tickets is Pink Pasilee tape I pleated which is a great way to add dimension !!

Design Team Projects for Right at Home !!

I just posted my Design Team projects for Right at Home over on the blog!! Here's a few peeks at my projects so far and there are tons of close-ups and a few tips and techniques on the blog post !! I used a collection by Reminisce called "The Wild". I will be posting more projects in a few weeks with some FUN Bo Bunny papers !!

I did a two-pager as well ... the pages below page are based on a sketch I designed a while back for Inspired Blueprints.  I love all the photos a two-pager allows and it really helps capture the memory !!

Inspired Blueprints Sketch # 54 !!!

Sketch # 54 has just been revealed at Inspired Blueprints!! I love the design of this sketch. I used Basic Grey's Capella papers again because of this photo of my Mom that I LOVE !! I've been on a vintage kick lately which is easy to do with this collection. The layout might look familiar .... I used it as the foundation for my new blog header ... I just swapped out the photo (still vintage though ... LOL) (don't LOL too hard !!) Here is the sketch and my take with some close-ups. Right at Home has done it again !! The August Monthly Kit is AWESOME !! It is aptly called Sweet Summertime ... and it's filled with fun papers from Echo Park, October Afternoon and Cosmo Cricket. These papers are PERFECT for scrapping those summer memories !! Here's a few peeks at a layout I created with some of the products in the kit. TFL and I'm off to create more summer memories !!

 

New Blog Header !!

Hi Everyone !! My new blog header is up !! I love how personal it is and I would LOVE to hear your feedback ... any comments or suggestions would we greatly appreciated .. it can still be tweeked !! My blog header is getting a facelift and I'm sooo excited !! I'm working with Lynda, a super graphic banner designer to create something more personal and unique to me !! We're in the design process ... using some vintage type images and bits of some of my layouts. I can't wait to share with you soon !! Have a great week !!

HAPPY AUGUST !!

OMG .... It's August already !! Can you believe it ?!?!?! The summer is flying by and this recent break in humidity is W O N D E R F U L !!!! It's soooooo nice to have the windows open and fresh air blowing in !! I hope everyone is savoring the season and making the most of it !!

A new month always brings a new sketch reveal at Inspired Blueprints !! We've had many requests for more mulit-photo sketches and we delivered !! Here is Sketch #53 and my take on it !! I used Basic Grey's "Capella" papers and went totally vintage with this layout. These pics are of my 98 year old Gram when she was in High School with the whole world ahead of her !!
