Project Life: Week 35|2015

Hey There - Happy Tuesday! Hope you are all doing well!
I'm hopping on to share my latest Project Life page using Noel Mignon's October Daily Diary Kit "Blue Moon". This kit is so full of awesome papers, cards and embellishments. For this page, I focused on the Maggie Holmes journaling cards from the kit. I'm a HUGE fan of Maggie Holmes so this page came together soooo quickly!! Love when that happens! Here's the whole page ...
Love the softer color palette of these cards! For close ups and details, stop by the
Noel Mignon Blog today! Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for lots of project coming up in November! Have a great week!

Amen for the Weekend and a Fun Challenge!!

Hey There! Happy Saturday! It's been a busier than usual last few weeks for me. I was in a minor car accident after Columbus day - rainy day, tons of traffic, hit from behind, no injuries kinda accident. I just got my car back from the shop yesterday, so that's behind me. Then, my card reader messed up my CF card which messed up my camera so off the shop with that - camera is fixed and cleaned, I just need a new card reader. This past weekend, I had a cyst that quickly became infected and needed to be attended to, so that was done on Tuesday - healing nicely now.  Throw in work, ridiculous commuter traffic and you can bet I'm glad it's the weekend!! I need some studio time to chill out!!
Onward ...
Over the past week, the Noel Mignon Team has been hosting a Fall Crop with lots of FUN challenges. I'm up today with a "Falling Leaves" challenge. It's easy - use some form of leaf paper, leaf ribbon or leaf shaped embellishment on a project. I made a PL page and fussy cut leaves to use as accents on the page. My photo quality is poor here -  these were taken with my iphone - a new card reader is on the to-do-list this weekend!!
For details and close-ups, stop by the blog. We would love to see you participate - there are awesome PRIZES, so head on over the Noel Mignon Members Page on Facebook and join us!!
Have a great weekend!!

Project Life and a Fun Online Crop!

Hi Everyone! I want to thank those who left lovely comments on my Halloween projects from last weeks 5 for 5 Blog Hop Event. All of the 5 for 5 designers had a great time and we look forward to our next event in November. Stay tuned!! If you missed any of my projects here's a quick link ...

Today I want to share a project life page I created using the absolutely gorgeous
Notes and Things Value Kit. This kit is so neutral with lots of gold foil touches. I LOVE the clean and simple look with the gold accents!! Here's the whole page. (These photos were taken with my iphone, outside as my DSRL is not cooperating with me.)
The shaker pocket was from a previous PL page and this collection went perfectly with it! Here's some close ups - I kept the embellishments to a minimum to allow the gold to shine through!

I love the white of the collect app photos with this collection.
These cards are all single sided and a package of die cuts come with the value kit.

Thanks for stopping by today.
This week Noel Mignon is having a Fall Harvest online crop.
Please come hang out with us - we have lots of fun prizes just waiting for you!! See you there!!

5 for 5 Blog Hop Event: Halloween - Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of our latest 5 for 5 Blog Hop Event. We are 5 crafty friends getting together and creating 5 Holiday themed projects for 5 consecutive days. The event runs from October 12th until October 16th and is Halloween inspired!!
Today is our final day of the Blog Hop. We have had so much fun sharing our Halloween projects and maybe we inspired you to create something just for fun. Today's theme is Witch. This can mean a witch's hat, a broom, witch's feet, etc. I decided to create a card using Tim Holtz Bird Crazy and Crazy Things Stamp Sets.

I just love this stamp set! The Crazy Things stamp set is a perfect match for these crazy birds. I used a Tim Holtz Shatter Stencil and texture paste to create the background. Once dry I blended Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink over the background.
I water colored the bird with Wilted Violet Distress ink and the Witch's hat with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.
The sentiment is from Tim Holtz Small Talk - Occasions and couldn't be more perfect. I inked the edges of the sentiment with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink.
Please hop on over and check out today's projects for each of the designers! They all did a great job and hopefully you will be inspired to make a card, tag, ATC or whatever you desire to celebrate Halloween!!

5 for 5 Blog Hop Event: Halloween - Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of our latest 5 for 5 Blog Hop Event. We are 5 crafty friends getting together and creating 5 Holiday themed projects for 5 consecutive days. The event runs from October 12th until October 16th and is Halloween inspired!!
Todays theme is STENCILS! Right away I knew which stencil I would use to create my tag. The background of my tag was inspired by Tim Holtz. He used this technique on a section of burlap canvas and I wanted to try it on a black tag. Here's my tag ...

I started with a black craft tag, Tim Holtz Halloween Stencil, Texture Paste and three GORGEOUS Distress Inks perfect for Halloween.
I scraped texture paste through the Halloween stencil, let it dry and then blended the distress inks over the dried paste. The texture paste absorbs the distress inks beautifully!!
I found an OLD Heidi Swapp flower, some cheesecloth, and some old Halloween die cuts from Marah Johnson and layered them together at the bottom of the tag.
The eyes of the skull are Tim Holtz Idea-ology Heirloom Roses with Sunset Orange Alcohol Ink dripped in. I water colored the skull die cut with Wilted Violet Distress Ink and a water brush.
The tag is topped of with distress ink dyed crinkle ribbon and a charm from the Idea-ology Adornments - Oddities Collection (retired).

I'm including this tag as part of October's  Mixed Media Monthly Challenge Blog. We have a fun, spooky Word Search challenge this month and this tag fits right in. Stop by the blog and see all the Halloween inspiration, and enter in our challenge for a chance to win an AWESOME Mixed Media prize from Grumbacher!!

Please hop on over and check out today's projects from each of the 5 for 5 designers below! They all did a great job and hopefully you will be inspired to make a card, tag, ATC or whatever you desire to celebrate Halloween!!
