12 Days of Holiday Inspiration - Day 8

Welcome to Day 8 of the 12 Days of Holiday Inspiration Blog Event brought to you by the "Inspiration Crew".
We're just a group of online crafty blog friends who love being creative. This time we're doing a 12-day event to provide you with tons of Holiday Inspiration.
We're making crafty projects using products we like and some of us are even offering prizes. Check each blog and the information there for what prizes are being offered and when the winners will be announced on that blog.
We hope you have enjoyed the last week of Holiday Inspiration. We have 5 more days left so there's still plenty of time to inspire your Holiday crafting. Today I created a simple card. For the card base and card top I used Simon Says Stamp Woodgrain cardstock. This cardstock is gorgeous - thick. 111 lb., and textured and so pretty for a background. I die-cut a few ornaments from the Spellbinders Nestabilities Heirloom Ornaments dies. I layered two on my card, popping one of them up for dimension ...

I used some lovely gold ribbon to "hang" the ornaments and added a few sequins. I embossed the sentiment on another piece of the woodgrain cardstock. The embossing came out great on the textured cardstock. Here's a side view of the card to show how popping up the top layer adds more dimension to the card ...

Thanks for stopping by today and as usual please stop by the blogs below for more Holiday fun. We will be back tomorrow so stay tuned and thanks for all your support for this Holiday Event!!

12 Days of Holiday Inspiration - Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of the 12 Days of Holiday Inspiration Blog Event brought to you by the "Inspiration Crew".
Today I want to share a card I made using some older Authentique "Wonder" paper. I used some leftover pieces I had in a 6x6 paper pack. This card has a more vintage feel to it which I love!!

I started with a doily and added some gold thread and a few banner pieces. I tucked a Santa image I cut from the collection under the glitter banner and embossed a sentiment on matching cream cardstock.

The glitter paper is from Stampin' Up! and the quality of this paper is awesome - no messy glitter paper and the sparkle is incredible!!
Make sure to visit the blogs of the crafty ladies listed below for more Holiday inspiration and some are offering prizes!!! We will see you tomorrow with more Holiday fun!!

At the bottom of this post is a list of all the crafty ladies participating in this event. Be sure to visit all the blogs each day for loads of fun and Holiday craft ideas.
For todays' project I created a mixed media Holiday Tag using Lawn Fawn's "Snow Day" petite paper pack. Lawn Fawn's colors are so bright and cheery that they are hard to resist!!

I roughly cut three triangles to create my tree. I added faux stitching around the edges with a white pen and stamped on them with a script stamp and gesso. I added some "snow" by scrapping Ranger's Texture Paste through Tim Holtz "Speckles" layering stencil. I used a Lawn Fawn adhesive Flair that coordinates with the collection for the star on my tree.

The edging on the right of the tag is music washi tape. Reminder: check out all the crafty blogs below for more inspiration and a chance for prizes!!!! See you tomorrow!!

12 Days of Holiday Inspiration - Day 2

So, are you ready for more Holiday Inspiration? The "Inspiration Crew" is back today with Day 2 of the 12 Days of Holiday Inspiration! For details on this event check out my post HERE.

I created a simple card for today's inspiration. I used Lawn Fawn's "Peace Joy Love" petite paper pack again for my card. I love the bright Holiday colors in this collection!

I cut a few strips of paper, notched out a banner at the ends and layered them under a simple tree. I embossed the sentiment on white cardstock and layered that over the tree. The scalloped dictionary vellum is from Maggie Holmes "Open Book" collection. I added a few sequins as ornaments and a star sequin for the top of the tree.

Easy peasy, right?! Below is a list of all the crafty ladies participating in this event. Be sure to visit all the blogs each day for loads of fun holiday crafts AND a chance to win some prizes!! See you tomorrow!!

A few weeks ago I participated in my first ever craft fair as a vendor. One of the projects I made for the fair were 10 4x4 Holiday canvases. I sold a few at the fair and since then I have sold most of the others and given a few as gifts. Here's what I created ...

I used some papers from Lawn Fawn's "Peace Joy Love" 6x6 petite paper pack. I love the bright colors in this collection. These were so simple to make and would make a great gift.

The sides are covered with DecoArt Snow-Tex, a fun product for Holiday crafts. How cute would this be on a desk or shelf to help celebrate the season!!
Please stop by the blogs below for more inspiration and a chance to win some prizes. We will all be back tomorrow for more holiday craftiness!! Thanks for visiting me twice today!!!

Mixed Media Monthly December Challenge

Happy Monday! Did the Holiday fly by or what?!?!? I need a holiday from the Holiday!! I wouldn't change a thing though - the time spent with family, friends and teaching was the best way to spend the Holiday.
Today I will be posting twice ... that's right, TWO posts from me today!! The first is December's challenge over on the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge Blog. The challenge is so fun this month - it's a game of tic-tac-toe. Choose the three elements you want to incorporate onto your project and start creating. Here's our logo ...

I went with Stencil, Glitter and Patterned paper.
I decided to decorate an embroidery hoop I've had in my stash for some time. I started with some older Authentique papers. I traced around the hoop onto the music paper and then stenciled some snowflakes onto one side with modeling paste. Once dry I adhered that to the back of the hoop. I cut out three simple trees, stamped them with a script stamp and gesso and attached them to the music paper - popping up two of them with foam tape for dimension.

I added some stickles to the snowflakes, a few sequins, some shimmer twine and done!! Here's a close-up of the stenciled snowflakes ...

Our sponsor for December is Inspiration Emporium. Create a project playing the tic-tac-toe game and enter our challenge for a chance to win a $25.00 gift card and 10% off with code MMMC. Head on over to the Mixed Media Monthly Blog for more inspiration form the team and out Guest Designer Joy Kennedy!!
Stop by later today for my second post with another Christmas project and a FUN blog hop!!!

I decided to create a Christmas Tag using Julie Nutting's Doll Stamp. If you know me, you know I LOVE these stamps. It's so much fun to create with these cuties and it brings me back to being a kid playing with paper dolls. I used some older Authentic paper from the "Wonder" collection. The doll stamp is "Jaclyn" and I love her sassy pose...

Here's a close up of the banners ...

I can't get enough of these tags ... as you will soon see!!

Independence Day Blog Hop!!

Hello Bloggers! I'm excited to be joining a new group of crafty blog friends in a fun adventure. We will host blog hops throughout the year featuring seasonal/holiday projects. We use products we like just for fun and inspiration!! So, Welcome to the Independence Day Blog Hop!!!

You should have arrived from the blog of Ceal Pritchett.

I decided to create an ATC for my Independence Day project! I started with a small ATC sized piece of white corrugated cardstock and painted the edges with gesso. I then layered a doily over the cardboard. I distressed and painted the edges of some pieces of paper from Graphic 45's A Place in Time - July Cut Aparts. I layered these pieces together ...

I added some sequins, some glitter ribbon from American Crafts, and a stick pin from my stash. I hand cut a banner and folded it over the stick pin. I then rolled three small pieces of paper to create firecrackers. The wick is made by sticking some Gold Shimmer twine from The Twinery into the rolled papers.

Be sure to check out all the blogs on this hop for lots of crafty Independence Day inspiration. I want to thank Donna Bowman  for the invite to participate and stop by her blog to see her FUN project with a great tutorial! ! Looking forward to the next Holiday already!!
