12 Tags of 2016 Continued

Hi there - Happy Monday! It's Spring here in New England, so what does that mean ...  why, snow of course!! Snow, wicked winds and hail. Snow, yesterday and today. Not alot of snow, but enough to make it slick under foot and make commuting a pain in the butt! Oh yah, and it's cold again. So what to do ... CREATE!!
I finished a layout, which I'll post tomorrow. I also photographed my January and February Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016. I've already posted my March tag - you can see post that here. January's tag was done while I was at Crop on the Cape 2016 with my Artsy Fartsy Girls. Here's January's tag based on Tim's.
Here's my January Tag
I like the foil taped background technique.
My new fav technique is using Picket Fence Distress Crayon to add color to metal embellishments - it's so much easier than paint!!

I really loved February's tag - the colors and gold embossing are gorgeous. I worked on February's tag right after the crop with one of my Artsy Fartsy girls. Here's Tim's tag
I used my own photo to personalize the tag. Tim's new tag-sized stencils are perfect and were used on this tag. Here's my version
I love this photo of my Grandma and Aunt - they are both so young and all dressed up! Hats were so in then!! This close up shows the lovely gold embossing.
The ribbon is so vibrant - it was stained with Candied Apple Red Distress Spray Stain - one of the new distress colors from 2015.
Well, I'm officially caught up on my 12 Tags of 2016!! I'm gathering my supplies for April's tag which features a technique I'm anxious to try.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Monday!!

12 Tags of 2016 | March

Hello and Happy Wednesday! I'm back to reality (boo!) after a wonderful, fun creative weekend at Crop on the Cape 2016. I met some great new friends and reunited with awesome old friends. I haven't laughed that much in a while. I stayed up LATE chatting and had such fun. I'm already looking out for the dates for next year! I have some pics of my weekend on my Instagram account.
The Artsy Fartsy Girls, Jenn ShurkusRachel Kleinman and I got together at the crop to work on our Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016. We created January's Tag which I will post later. Rachel and I finished February and March's tags this past Monday! I wanted to share March's tag with you today. I love how this came out and it was great to use the new Distress Crayons for the first time! Here's Tim's Tag ...
I stayed true to the tag except I used a shorter piece of corrugated cardboard so the bright colors are exposed on the top and bottom of the tag as well as through the butterflies. Here's my tag including a few close ups.
How pretty is the contrast of the bright Distress Crayons with the grungy look of the corrugated cardboard. The Distress Crayons are so easy to use and blend really well with your finger!
The Picket Fence Distress Crayon is a great way to color in metal word bands - so much easier than paint!!
I LOVE how this turned out.
Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back with January and February's tag soon, as well as the other projects I completed at the crop! Have a great week!

Project Life Page

Howdy Peeps! How are you?! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I'm getting ready to spend a weekend surrounded by crafty, fun, silly friends and I couldn't be happier!! I'm finishing up my packing - trying to bring less but not succeeding! We plan on taking lots of Instax photos and having some adult beverages and getting creative (we hope!!). I'll share pics on my Instagram account and Facebook
Before I head out I wanted to share my latest project life page using The Planner Society's February Kits. I recently went to my friend's daughter's high school production of Bye Bye Birdie. The cast did a great job - it was funny and very entertaining. I grabbed a few pics from her and created a PL page. I used papers, die cuts, stickers and washi tape from TPS kit. The kits are perfect for planner pages and the leftovers make great PL pages. This is the third PL page I've created with these awesome kits! Here's my page followed by some close-ups.
Aren't the colors of this kit sooooo pretty?!?! I love the blues and pinks together and the die cuts are perfect for my pics!! I inked the edges of the die cuts with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. Here's the title card. I stamped this month's calendar onto a tag and trimmed it to fit on the top of my title card.
For the next card I punched out a scalloped circle from vellum and popped a die cut on top.
Here's the pics of the girls all decked out for the show! They are so cute!
How adorable is this dress die cut!

Here's the final pic of me and Caroline.
I love these kits and I can't wait until the next kit arrives!
Thanks for stopping by and Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Another Layout from Crop on the Cape 2015

Hello Everyone! I'm hopping on with a quick post to share another layout that I completed at Crop on the Cape 2015. I used Noel Mignon's "Shine Bright" kit for this page. It's a simple page letting the gold goodness of the background paper shine through. I love this photo of these two - they always make me smile!!

Thanks for stopping by and please check back tomorrow for The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge April reveal!! Happy Tuesday!

I Am

This past weekend at Crop on the Cape 2015 I actually did TWO layouts! I put the finishing touches on them and wanted to share them with you. While at the crop Paper Issues was having an online crop with challenges. One of them was a sketch challenge and that was my inspiration for this layout. I used Simple Stories "I Am" collection, including project life cards that coordinates with the collection. Some of the products I used came from Noel Mignon's latest Classic Kit "Shine Bright" - a knock out kit this month!!

I took a selfie awhile ago with my Fuji Instax Camera - such a fun camera to bring to a crop too!!

The chipboard alpha goes so well with the collection ...

I added some sequins and Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Gold for my final pop of color.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back with my other layout and the winner of my giveaway. Have a great day!

Project Life | Weeks 36 & 37 and Giveaway Update!!

Hello Everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! I returned Sunday from one of the best crop events EVER - Crop on the Cape! I believe this is the 5th or 6th time I've gone and it's always a great time! I don't always get tons done but it's so awesome to catch up with everyone, laugh, have a few adult beverages and just socialize with ladies that share the same passion about art! If you are local please look into this event - you won't be disappointed!
I did two layouts at the crop which I will share later this week. I also finished up a few Project Life pages - weeks 36 and 37 | 2014. Since I'm catching up with PL, I'm going back to see what I have for photos, and I came up very short for week 36. So, I used Photo Pocket Page Design J which is a smaller page design. I used Heidi Swapp's Favorite Things PL collection ...

Here's some close-ups

I used sequins, stamps and Heidi Swapp Sheer Stickers that coordinate with the collection. The vellum circles were die cut with Lawn Fawn's Circle Stackables Dies.

For week 37 I had more pictures to work with! So I created a two-pager using Photo Pocket Page Design J for the left side and Page Design G for the right side of the PL spread. For week 37 I used a new PL kit called "Trinkets". This is a value kit I purchased at Michael's and is loaded with gold elements!!

Gold-ness overload, right?!?! Here's some close ups starting with the left side of the page ...

I added some stitching on a few of the cards.

Here's the right side ... I included a shaker pocket and stitched the star right onto the pocket.

The title card is very simple ...

This was a fun collection to work with.
