Lots of Pockets

Hello Everyone! I'm back today with my latest Project Life page using the AWESOME Noel Mignon's Show and Tell Daily Dairy Kit. This page is a bit different from last week. I used a 12x12 pocket page from October Afternoon with 3x3 pockets for the first time. I must say, I LOVE this style pocket page. It's a bit of a challenge to decorate the smaller squares but layering smaller embellishments worked well. I used Crate Paper's Wonder collection for most of my page.
I have lots of close-ups on the Noel Mignon blog so please stop by and take a look.

Show and Tell

Hope you all had a great Labor Day Weekend! I had a relaxing one, including some time in the sunshine!  Summer, please don't fade out too quickly. We love you here in New England!
I have a new project over on the Noel Mignon Blog using September's Show and Tell Daily Diary Kit. The inspiration came from back to school pocket file folders, shrunk down to hold Project Life Cards. Here's the cover ...
Inside there are a total of six cards and tags. Here's a peek ...
This was so much fun to create. For a close-ups of the cards, please stop by
Noel Mignon blog to check out the details. I'd love to hear from you if you have time! Have a great week and I'll be back soon with more projects using this AWESOME kit!

A Beachy Tag!

This past week I finished July's Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2015.
Since I missed creating this for the July Holiday I decided to go beachy with my interpretation. I loved the technique on this tag using Micro Glaze to seal the Distress colored image creating a resist. Here's my tag ...
I love the background colors together: Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Broken China Distress Inks. I colored the seahorse with Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks.
Here's another close-up
As always, creating Tim's tags is so fun and I love learning new techniques with products I already have! Stay tuned I'll be back with more projects! Have a great Holiday weekend!

September Already?!?!?

Howdy Mixed Media Peeps! Can you believe it's September?!?! Well, I cannot. I do NOT want the summer to be over, just a bit cooler so I can open my windows and get fresh air into my house! There are still more pool days, cookouts and more deck time to come and I'm savoring every minute!
With a new month comes a new Mixed Media Monthly Challenge!! This month's challenge is Photo Inspired.
I LOVE how differently the team interpreted the challenge and you can see all the projects on the blog. I drew on the colors for my inspiration. I wanted to create a layout, mixed media style. I haven't made a layout in months and was feeling the urge. Here's my project...
I prepped my white cardstock with clear gesso and then created a watercolor background using Distress Spray Stains in shades of blue.
I used a few stencils with Hickory Smoke and Black Soot Distress Inks. I also added some Squeezed Lemonade Distress Spray Stain for a pop of yellow.
Next I layered coordinating patterned papers and a doily. This would be the mat for my photo.
Then I added my photo, painted a Heidi Swapp wood veneer word with Dina's Black paint, added some red thread behind the papers and a few epoxy dots and done! This is such an easy and fun way to create a water colored background!

Our guest designer this month is the Uber talented Julie Fei-Fan Balzer. I have had the opportunity of taking several classes with Julie and I love her teaching style and sense of humor. You HAVE to stop by the blog today to see her creation - it's amazing!!!
