Project Life Page and Amen to Friday!

Hey ... It's FRIDAY!! Amen and Halleluiah to the work week being over! It's been very busy at work which is tiring me out as my hip is really hurting. I'm planning on surgery soon - the chronic pain is not welcome!! It's time to relax, spend time with my family and work on some deadlines - all in two days LOL!!
I worked on a Project Life page in between Design Team Projects using Maggie Holmes Open Book. Here's my whole page...
Here's the title card - I layered a frame, die cuts and a few other elements to add depth.
I used the rub ons that coordinated with the Open Book collection and a few of the cards.
My photos this week feature my love of coffee and were printed with the Collect App...

Here's the last few cards ... I LOVE the layered tags in the collection!!
The confetti pockets were already created from the prior week.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you too can relax and enjoy family and friends this weekend! See you next week, rested and ready to tackle another hectic work week!!

A Winter Tag

Hey Everyone! Hope your all having a nice week! I want to share another project with January's Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. I have already created four cards with this awesome kit and I wanted to make a tag as well. You can see my cards here, here and here. As you may know, I LOVE creating tags - it's one my favorite formats. I also love dressing up Julie Nutting's Doll Stamps. Here's a tag combining those two loves.

I adore the Doodlebug Design Polar Pal Stickers included in the kit - they are just way too cute. I added this cute seal to keep my girl company on her winter walk.
I added some Stampendous Shaved Ice for a touch of snowy glitter! I also applied glossy accents to her shoes. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's" Love you a Latte" Stamp Set.
I'm going to submit my tag to the current Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Best Friends.
I have really enjoyed Simon Says Stamp card kit this month and I can't wait for February's kit to come! Have a great day!!

Winter Cards

Oh Friday, I'm so glad you are here! It was a LONG work week and I'm glad it's just about over! Hoping for a creative weekend, after catching up on some sleep Saturday and Sunday mornings!!
I'm in love with January's Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - the blues, purples and greys make a great winter card palette. I made a third card last night and used the snowflake stamps included in the kit. Here's my card ...
I stamped some snowflakes with versamark and white pigment ink. I then added some sequin snowflakes with Doodlebug Designs Lily White Glitter Sprinkles.
Simon Says Stamp Card Kits make creating cards so fun and easy and I'm hoping to create a few more cards this weekend with this awesome kit! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend.

The Winter Blues

Happy Tuesday! I'm hopping on to share my second layout using Noel Mignon's January Sweet Charlotte Classic Kit. Our theme this week is Winter Blues. We can use blue as a dominant color or we can create a project showing how we fight the winter blues. I combined both interpretations of the theme. Winter - my photos are a chilling reminder of last years horrible winter season. Blues - the blue floral patterned paper. How I fight the Winter Blues - head into my studio and create!! Here's my page ...

Project Life | Week 36-2015

Good Monday Morning! How was your weekend? I had a nice, productive Saturday at my parents which included donating Simba's food, lots of old towels and unused pet medications to my local Veterinary Hospital. It felt good to pass all of that on to be used by other pets. Sunday was a weather wash-out so I spent the day in my studio working on a layout. I haven't worked on layouts in a long time so I'm a bit rusty. It took me most of the day to complete it!! I will share my page with you tomorrow.
While on my holiday vacation I completed a few project life pages. I used a fun value kit by Becky Higgins called Inspire which includes PL cards that have stitching already on them! I love the brush script lettering and the soft color palette of this collection. Here's my page ...
I used the Collect App for my photos. Here's close ups of the cards ...
I typed on the title card and added a rub on heart and some enamel dots...

I have to laugh at the photo below showing all the Dunkin Donuts near my work place!
Here's the final few cards ...
The details on the cards in this collection made the whole page come together quickly! Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back tomorrow with my layout using Noel Mignon's Sweet Charlotte Classic Kit! See you then and have a great Monday!!

Project Life | Week 34-2015

Happy Friday!! While I was on vacation I caught up on a few weeks of my project life for 2015. For Week 34 I used Heidi Swapp's September Skies Value and Core Kits. I used October Afternoon's photo pocket page - lots of 3 by 3 pockets which I LOVE!! Here's my page. I'm using a new light box to photograph my projects. I love it - it saves me this time of year with the huge lack of daylight. However, I caught the light strip reflection in one of my photos, so I need to work on that! Here's my page ...
I love the September Skies collection. The pinks and greens are so fresh! Here are some close ups ...
The pops of silver glitter are so pretty!
I also added a few wood veneer pieces to some of the cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great weekend.

What Not to do!

As promised I'm sharing my final Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2015. My tag didn't come out that great. Part of the technique was using gold mixative alcohol ink mixed with other vibrant alcohol inks. I added way too much gold and it overpowered the other colors. I tried adding more alcohol inks AFTER the tag was done and it didn't work. I still like that I learned this technique and what not to do!! Here's Tim's tag..
Aren't the colors stunning?!?! And the transparent gloss through the stencil is sooo pretty. That's what is lost on my tag because I went over the completed tag with more alcohol inks to try to add more color. Here's my tag...
The black cardstock that Tim used on the bottom of his tag didn't look that great on my tag so I added an Idea-ology Number Token (9 for September).
That wraps up my 12 Tags of 2105 adventure! I truly enjoyed the year long journey! I am looking forward 12 Tags of 2016!!
I ran out of time Sunday evening so I did not include a supply list for this tag but Tim has an extensive list on his blog.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday!

Autumn in January

So, before I jump into this years Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 I wanted to share my tag from November 2015. I got together with Jenn Shurkus and, through Google Hangout, Rachel Kleinman to create November's tag together. We didn't have the stamp set that Tim used so we created our pumpkins using Lawn Fawn's oval die cuts - Jenn's creative idea!! Here's Tim's tag.
My favorite part of this tag is the foiling around the edges - a technique new to me which is one of the many reasons I love creating Tim's tags. I like how our pumpkin came out and we did it using existing supplies. Here's my tag...
Here's a close up of the pumpkin...
The title was a bit tricky - we used different set of alpha dies that were a bit bigger. I still love the organic look of the cork.
So, that leaves one more tag from 2015 for me to share - September's. I messed that one up a bit but still learned from it. I will share that one tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!
