Project Life: Weeks 20 and 21

Hello bloggers! Hope you are all well and having a good day. I have a confession ... I kinda cheated.
It's sooooo easy to get behind on, well anything, but in my crafty life on Project Life. The past few weeks I haven't even taken enough photos to create full 12x12 pages.
In order to catch up my solution was to use smaller pages for Weeks 20 and 21!!  I continued using WeR Memory Keepers Inked Rose collection for both weeks. I love using different sized pages in my scrapbook albums or mini albums so these smaller pages are perfect for a variety. Page Design J is great for a week when you didn't take many photos or, like me, if you want to catch up quickly so you don't fall too far behind. I feel like if I fall too behind on PL it won't get done. So here's Week 20 ...

I added some stamping - I'm getting better at stamping BTW!! I also added some twine from The Twinery around one of the frames.

Week 21 is similar but I used more photos ...

One of the 4x6 cards in the collection has banners on it so I cut them out and added them to some photos.

My sweet yellow lab in 13 years old and I want to enjoy every moment I have with her!! She is the best dog EVER!!!!!!!!

So, now I'm caught up! I'm trying to keep up with my PL planner - that really helps, even to simply jot down thoughts or events. I also make note if I have a photo for that particular day. Taking the time to take photos is so important!!! Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back soon with my first DT project for Mixed Media Monthly Challenge.

With all my new adventures, Project Life has fallen back a bit. I have finished Week 19. I used a new kit from WeR Memory Keepers. The collection is called "Inked Rose" and the colors are so me lately! Bright orange, pink, yellow and teal! The collection includes an "Albums Made Easy Card Set". The coordinating embossed stickers are gorgeous and dimensional. The page design for Week 19 is Design K. Here's the entire page followed by some close-ups ...

The collection has a mixed media feel to it with all the splatters on the cards. I typed the journaling card and added a few of the embossed stickers. Keeping it simple! How cute is this "Hello" card ...

All the photos were printed using the Collect App ...

Weeks 20 and 21 are in progress. I'm going to "cheat" and use smaller page designs so I can catch up!! Thanks for letting me share all my news and Happy Memorial Day to you all! I will be back with more projects and hope to see you on the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge Blog!

A Creative Weekend

So, I completely missed posting last week - the week simply slipped right by! I am creating though - doll tags, a canvas and a mixed media tag all of which I can share soon, along with a new DT announcement!
This past Saturday was an incredibly fun day creating TONS of cards with lots of yummy Lawn Fawn Goodies at the second Loft art RETREAT hosted by the lovely and talented Jenn Shurkus! I am in no way a great stamper, but I learned some new tricks to improve my stamping - some of my cards were "lessons learned" but I only goofed on a few! The Lawn Fawn stamps and die sets are so adorable and a lot of the die cutting was done for us - THANKS JENN!!  We arrived to find our kits and lots of Lawn Fawn Goodies for us to take home ... and chocolate!

Here's a few of the cards we made ...

Hey, I stamped well on these!! I love meeting and connecting with new people - it's great to meet facebook friends in real life!

Even Mister Harley was well-behaved and enjoyed the creative gathering. He had a new anchor bow tie for the occasion ...

This is my second art retreat with Jenn and I am looking forward to the next one! Before we all leave we have a group shot. This is my fav photo of the day and a great memory!!

Thanks Jenn for all your HARD WORK and planning. If anyone is local and can attend one of Jenn's retreats, it's well worth your time! Have a great week everyone!

Project Life Week: 18

Can I just say, I am so HAPPY it's Friday. I am glad the work week is almost over and I'm looking forward to the weekend and to Mother's Day.
I'm currently working on a new mixed media canvas and trying some different techniques, styles and products. Will share soon!
I finished Project Life Week 18 this week as well. It's quite simple this week - after all, Project Life should be an easy way to keep up with life, right! I used "Just Add Color" kit again and this is my first time using Pocket Page Design K, which is great for those Instagram photos! Here's my page ...

I used a few Wood Veneer arrows, some flower sequins and cardstock stickers to embellish my cards and photos. Here's some close-ups starting with the title card ...

Well, have a great weekend and I appreciate you stopping by!

A Dreamy Layout and a Sketch

Good Morning! I'm back today with a layout using Heidi Swapp's "Dreamy" collection. The papers in this collection are so soft and sweet and are part of my current Noel Mignon Kit "Carousel" - a gorgeous kit by the way, and sold out!! My layout is very simple leaving lots of "white", dreamy space! I used
Creative Scrappers Sketch #267 for this page. Here's my layout ...

The photo is so cool because the rays coming through were not planned, but a happy accident! I took this photo originally because I was frustrated with the ENORMOUS pile of mulch dumped right behind my car, leaving me practically blocked in! I shot into the sun and the rays worked out perfectly. The papers, the clear watercolor word "always" and the glitter frame are all from Heidi's Dreamy collection. The cute pink stickers are Pink Paislee. The sequins are Jenni Bowlin and the enamel hearts are from Chickaniddy - all part of the Carousel Kit from Noel Mignon. Here's Sketch # 267 followed by some close-ups ...

The sunshine/heart paper clip above is Maya Road!

Thanks again for stopping by. I'd love the hear from you if you have time and I will return soon with more crafty projects!!

Tag of the Month

Hello and Happy Monday Morning! Hope you all had a great weekend. This past weekend was National Scrapbook Weekend in the crafting industry. I wasn't able to attend any local crops but I did spend time in my studio on several projects. I finished a tag for the Tag of the Month feature on my blog. I used a Julie Nutting Doll Stamp and some papers  and embellishments from Little Yellow Bicycle's "Poppy" collection. I focused on the teal and orange elements in the collection to give my tag a springy feel - much needed after a rough New England winter!
I used another ADORABLE Julie Nutting doll stamp in my growing collection of these fun stamps. (I have 16 of her stamps ...) This cutie is "Megan". I love her sassy pose and her boots. Here's my tag ...

The cardstock stickers that coordinate with the collection are so bright and cheery.  I clustered several stickers along the side of the tag. The subtle white script stamping in the background, on the bird and her skirt was done by painting gesso on the back of a script stamp and stamping directly onto the tag.

I hand cut a few banners out of the papers and added them to the tag, along with a cute charm and some pretty white ribbon ...

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back with more projects soon. Have a great week!

Because I'm Happy!!

"Happy" is the perfect song for today! I have two exciting events I've wanted to share and today I can spill one of them! I am being featured today over on the
Mixed Media May '14 blog.
The blog is An Annual Celebration of Mixed Media Artists. During the month of May a different mixed media artist is highlighted through interview questions and pictures of their work. When Cindy Jones Lantier approached me back in March, I was surprised and excited. I guess I never considered myself good enough to be called an "artist", never mind a mixed media artist. As I was going through my mixed media projects I wanted featured, I felt proud of what I've created - how I've learned and grown. It rekindled my desire to create more and continue to learn about new products and how they work together. I thank Cindy for featuring me. It's truly an honor.
Please stop by the Mixed Media May '14 blog daily during the month of May to see the talent chosen and help celebrate the art of mixed media!! Thanks so much for letting me share this with you!
