The work week is O V E R !!! Amen and Hallelujah ! That may sound bad but it seriously was a hellish week and I am thankful it's behind me. I'm looking forward to spending time with my family on Sunday and Monday - it's always great to see everyone, especially the kids!

The kitchen renovation plans will start to pick up after the Holidays. Cabinets will be ordered and the demo will begin - I can't even imagine the mess - but the end result will be soooooo worth it!

I wanted to share another winter canvas I did for Creative Imaginations - it's on the blog today as part of the Twelve Days to Christmas. Here's a look ...

Spreading J O Y with Flowers ...

Hi Everyone! Happy Holidays! I love the season but I'm not a fan of the hectic, crazy pace that goes along with the preparations. One of these years I'll take the week prior to the Holidays off ... This week at work has been over the top busy so my post will be a quick one. I wanted to share my latest Petaloo project. Keeping in the canvas mode I created three 4x4 canvases with Petaloo's gorgeous Velvet Hydrangeas. For close-ups check out my post >>HERE<< ... these canvases were super easy and make a great decoration or gift ...

I'll be posting another fun 8x8 Winter canvas for Creative Imaginations within the next few days! Have a great week and wish me luck surviving the next two work days!!! See you soon!

Happy Small Business Saturday!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. I had a wonderful day with my family and it was GORGEOUS outside! The dogs were out all day and I even helped my Dad with some yard work. Today, I have my windows open and it is so warm for the end of November!

I avoided the crazed masses on Black Friday and spent some time in my studio. I've been waiting for some decent photgraphing weather to share my latest canvas for fun. I used a 6x12 canvas and put some girlie dresses hanging on a line. Here it is.....

I could create mixed media all day and never get tired of it!! However, I have some deadlines approaching so back to layouts - thank goodness for a few extra days off to get caught-up ... Have a great weekend and help support your FAV small businesses!

Canvas for FUN!

Just finished up another canvas - just for FUN! This is a 10x10 slim profile canvas with distressed flowers, a banner,a bird and lots of bright colors! I used a non-permanent mist with a stencil and once the mist was thououghly dry, I lightly added mulit-medium to seal it so I could add more layers without smearing the mist. Here's the canvas with some close-ups...

I'll be back soon with a fall layout I did for Petaloo using some gorgeous flowers and leaves and a pic of Simba when she was a year old!! See you soon!

ATC fun!!

Happy Thursday! I wanted to hop on and share my first ever ATC cards I did for Creative Imaginations. I thought, how hard can it be - the canvas is so small it'll be a breeze ... not so much! I was definitely a challenge to create something small, but here's what I came up with ...

I treated each card like a mini canvas and it finally came together! Here's each card separately ...

If you're looking for ATC inspiration, head on over to the CI Blog - it's ATC week and the cards are awesome!! Thanks for stopping by!

If you're in the area, Right at Home Scrapbooking is having their super fun Holiday Bus Express Tour and I'll be demoing lots of mixed media products. So stop by and say HI and have some FUN!!

Remembering Today ...

Ten years ago this morning I was at work talking on the phone with one of my bosses who told me what was happening at the World Trade Center - it was surreal, unimaginable and horrifying. I remember being nervous driving home due to the uncertainty of the attacks.

It's so hard to believe that was ten years ago - and how it has continuously impacted the country and the world. Today was emotional and we STILL will never forget!!

On a scrappier note, I wanted to share a few layouts I did last month for my LSS Right at Home Scrapbooking. I used Simple Stories "100 Days of Summer". This line is right up my alley - vintage and soooo FUN ...

Gool ole summer August RAH Sketch 2011
I'll be teaching my first class at RAH this Saturday September 17th. It will be a mixed media class and I'm so psyched - and nervous. Check out the details here and if you want learn about mixed media and get messy - this is the class for you! See you soon!!

Canvas Board + Petaloo = FUN!

WOW, I'm back again so soon! Imagine that! I just finished up a project for Petaloo that I wanted to share with you. I started with a blank 8x10 canvas board and added patterned papers, paints, stamps, rub-ons, modeling paste and created a fun mixed media background. I then added a photo courtesy of Heather Chick - isn't Kelsie the absolute cutest !!! - and some GORGEOUS Petaloo flowers, vine sprays and butterflies and came up with this ...

I'm in mixed media heaven - unfortuantely for my wallet but GREAT for my renewed creativity! TFL and have a great Labor Day Weekend! I have FOUR DAYS off and there are blank canvases calling my name!

Yikes ... Blog much?!?

I hope everyone is recovering from the Hurricane we recently endured. I was very lucky - never lost power and no major damage - just a mess to clean up! One of my accounts was without power so we have been working elsewhere this week so we don't get too far behind. I feel for all those who have suffered and I hope they are on the mend.

I'm still here, despite my lack of posting for a MONTH!! I get the award for blog neglect for August ...

I have been creating ... mostly canvases lately - my new passion! I am now totally in love with mixed media and will be sharing some of my projects soon.

I wanted to share another layout I did for CHA Summer for Creative Imaginations. This project features a brand new Signature collection called Fresh Picked. The collection features gorgeous fruit themed papers perfect for showcasing favorite recipes, fruit picking events or whatever you choose. I used the strawberry papers and stickers to highlight a day we spent strawberry picking with Mr. Joshua! Here's the layout ...

Berry picking for CI CHA Summer 2011
Check out this collection - it's FUN! A few of my other layouts for Creative Imaginations were picked up for publication so I can't share those quite yet!!

I will be back soon with a mixed media project for Petaloo featuring some of their new CHA Summer releases! Have a great week and I WILL be back soon!!

Back to Reality ...

Returning to reality after vacation is never easy - especially after having such a fun time at CHA Chicago. I did miss my family and friends and my furry family but I did not miss work and the daily routine. I have to admit I haven't created ANYTHING since I've been back but that's about to change .... projects are now presenting themselves and it's time to be crafty again! Hopefully a break will spark some new ideas and projects.

I wanted to share the projects I did for Creative Imaginations over the next few posts starting with a NEW collection from Samantha Walker called "A to Z" - perfect for school photos and memories!! Kate, my Niece's daughter is the subject of this layout using the "A to Z" collection. I also created a card for that special teacher.

School days
Teacher u rule card
TFL and I'll be back tomorrow with a few more projects!

Long Cool Woman (in a crafty couture dress!)

One of the displays that always amazes me is the Crafty Couture Designer Contest - the dresses are incredible and here's a few  ...

Just my Imagination ...

One of the highlights of my trip to CHA Chicago was hanging out with the crew at the Creative Imaginations Booth! I was able to meet the integral people behind the scenes that make it all happen! I was excited to meet and work with Eva Doblias a fellow CIDT member - and we helped with a few make and takes at the booth - a great opportunity to meet people and work with the amazing Luminarte products. I also had the opportunity to take a class with the talented Marah Johnson and I LOVE the mini album we created! Here's a few pics of the booth activities, including a few samples of what I created for the booth ...
