Creative Scrappers Sketch 286 | Reveal

Hello Bloggers! Happy Sunday to everyone!

I am sad to say that this is my last layout as a Design Team member with

Creative Scrappers. I have always loved sketches, in fact my very first Design Team was with Inspired Blueprints - an awesome sketch site. I have played along with Creative Scrappers for years and was so excited to become part of the team as of  October 2014. Thanks to Kristine Davidson for ALL her hard work making this site a huge success!!! I have enjoyed my term with this great team and I hope to see it return!!! I used my latest Noel Mignon January Kit "Hey Girl" to create my layout.  Here's my page ...

... and here's Sketch 286 ...

For the bottom of the sketch I chose to layer strips of the same patterned paper in different widths and lengths, including popping several up for added dimension.

I added some days of the week stickers throughout the layers to play along with the subject - coffee!

As a reminder, our sponsor for this month is SpiegelMom Scraps. Jody is offering a $25.00 off a purchase of $35.00 or more to her shop. Simply create a layout using Sketch 285 and/or Sketch 286 and enter them using the inlinkz widget at the bottom of the reveal. The deadline to submit your layout(s) is January 31 Midnight EST. Please join us and good luck!

Have a great week everyone and GO PATRIOTS!!!

Creative Scrappers has the latest sketch revealed on the blog today. Sketch #284 was fun and came together very quickly for me - and I'm NOT a fast scrapper!! Here's my take on the sketch ...

I used Noel Mignon's December kit "Cable Knit". The kit is filled with current Holiday papers and embellishments. Here's a close-up of the photo and some layering ...

And, here's Sketch #284 ...

As you can see I stuck to the sketch - I just clustered most of the circles elements closer together. Now, let's see how you interpret the sketch!!

Creative Scrappers | Sketch 283 Reveal

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone that celebrates Thanksgiving had a wonderful holiday! I spent the day at my brother and sister in law's home and had a lovely day with family and friends. The food was fantastic - my favorite meal of the year!! You can't go wrong with wonderful company, delicious food and then a nap later!!!

Instead of shopping on Black Friday I had a lovely day crafting with a few great friends - I did snag a bargain or two online though! Saturday was back with the family making cookies for an upcoming cookie swap.

That brings us to today. I'm teaching a canvas class this afternoon over at

Right at Home Scrapbooking. We are close to sold out but you check with the store to see if there's any availability.  To check on the details for the class, including a supply list, go to "Upcoming Classes" under my blog header for more info. If there are enough people interested we can have another class, so stop by the RAH Blog and let them know or email me and I will pass the info on!!

Today is also reveal day over at Creative Scrappers. The latest sketch was a bit of a challenge for me - I struggled with the triangles in the design. After playing with paper placement I finally came up with a layout I really like. Here's my finished layout ...

I used Noel Mignon's November Kit "Maple Creek". Sorry, this kit is sold out but please check the Noel Mignon Website for info on a kit subscription - it's worth every penny. The kits are LOADED with current product and you will love them!!! Here's sketch 283 ...

I shrunk the sketch a bit but and rotated the orientation of the photo. There was lots of white space on my page so a splattering of Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Gold really helped. Here's a few close-ups ...

I can't get enough of Maggie Holmes Vellum Dictionary Paper from the Open Book Collection - I had to buy more!!

Creative Scrappers | Sketch 282 Reveal

Hello Bloggers Hope you are all doing well! I have to say that our very first Craft Fair was a success! We had absolutely no idea how we would do and for the first hour and a half nothing sold. Then things picked up and we ended up doing well for newbies! Thanks to all who supported us and we are definitely moving forward to another show.

I have a layout to share with you today based on the latest Creative Scrappers Sketch. I love the design of this sketch. Here's my page ...

Initially I printed both my photos on sticky back canvas but they looked a bit dull so I added one regular photo over the canvas and it pops more. Here is Sketch 282 ...

I used Noel Mignon's November "Maple Creek Kit" for my page. Included in the kit was gold foil vellum paper from Maggie Holmes Open Road collection. I punched out various sized circles from the vellum paper and added them to the side of the layout. I substituted Lawn Fawn Wood Veneer Leaves for the circles on the sketch that surround the photo.

I'm into seed beads lately so I added some of them under one of my photos for some dimension and interest ...

Our sponsor this month is Paper Camellia. For a chance to win the November Main Kit from Paper Camellia, create a layout using this months sketches and enter the challenge by using the inlinkz widget at the end of the reveals for Sketches 281 and 282. The deasline to enter is November 30, 2014.
Enjoy your Sunday and I will be back soon! Thanks for stopping by!

This Monday is a Special Day!!

Hello Bloggers! It's Monday - and we're all back to our daily routines. This particular Monday is special to me for several reasons! It's my Mom's 80th Birthday!!! Happy Birthday Mom! My Mom is a very special person ... she is giving, loving and selfless - she puts everyone else first! She was an awesome caregiver to my Grandmother and now my Dad. She has become a great friend over the years, listens to me venting and always has great advice! Love you Mom!!

The other reason today is so special is that I can finally share some exciting news!!!!  I'm proud to say that I'm a part of the Design Team at Creative Scrappers.

I'm in LOVE with the new logo!! I want to thank Kristine Davidson for the opportunity to be a part of a great team and I'm eagerly looking forward to creating pages from the fun sketches. I have always loved sketches and I especially love how the same sketch is uniquely interpreted by each designer! The DT is crazy talented and I'm so humbled to be a part of this group.

Thanks for letting me share my Monday and I hope you all have a great week!!!! I'll be back soon with more crafty projects!!
