Great ending to a not so great day ...

Happy Monday! I spent this past weekend cleaning out the rest of the kitchen preparing for the renovation scheduled to start this Thursday - give me strength to make it through the upcoming chaos ...  keeping the end result in mind as the dust goes everywhere! I'll keep photographing the process and share on Facebook! Lowe's and I will be close friends for the next few months ...

After a kinda crappy day at work I came home to find two copies of this in an envelope ... I have a layout in this issue!

Current Issue

There is also a peek of my layout on their page >>here<<

The layout in this issue was created using products from Creative Imaginations  for CHA Sumer 2011! Here's the layout ...

Cute as a bug for CI CHA Summer 2011
The photo is beyond cute and taken by my great friend and fabulous photographer Heather Chick of her adorable daughter ... She has been the subject of many a scrapbook page - and will be in more in the future!! Thanks Heather! Thanks for letting me share this with you - it ended my Monday quite nicely!!

Inner Artist ...

Happy Thursday! One more work day and then a nice long Holiday weekend ... Yahoo! Yesterday I took the day off to have my new kitchen cabinets delivered! Boxes are now completely taking over my livingroom. Progress ... slow but sure. Once the cabinets were delivered - all by 7:30AM, I had the rest of the day to myself so I decided to FINALLY start my 2012 CANVAS CREATE workshop hosted by Donna Downey. Check out the details here.  January's canvas is my first canvas with paint only - no patterned paper, no stencils, stamps, rub-ons etc - just paint! I was intimidated - which is why I took me so long to jump in ... but I loved it! I have alot to learn but overall I'm happy with the canvas and I thank Donna for her inspiration and fun personality. I used a 12x12 canvas for this project and the title is personally appropriate. Here's a look and a few close-ups ...

I love the paint splatters the best! My next canvas for February is ready to add some color and I hope to complete it this weekend. Stay tuned and thanks again Donna for your inspiration!

Happy Day After ...

Hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day. I'm back in the work groove after a much needed weekend with the girls at a crop hosted by my LSS Right at Home Scrapbooking! It's always nice to be with friends that truly enjoy being creative, fun, silly and supportive. It's creative therapy and I can't wait until our next get together!

I created a few projects ... one just for fun. I decorated a 4x4 canvas with a cupcake - the "wrapper" is made from corrugated cardboard by Creative Imaginations - sprayed with a gorgeous plum mist and "topped" with a variety of white buttons from my stash.. It's a great way to use up buttons and makes a great gift for any occasion! Here's a few pics ...

I also managed to complete a few DT layouts for Right at Home. The team was given a color challenge and a sketch challenge. My color challenge layout is below - for details and supplies check out the blog >here< .

My sketch challenge will be posted towards the end of the month - it's a double page with Valentine's paper and some cute pics of Simba!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day and rest of the week!!!
