Project Life: Week 47

Hello everyone! Hope you all had an awesome Thanksgiving. I spent a great day at my brother and sil's with delicious food, lots of laughs, fun kids and a well mannered boxer puppy! It is always great seeing everyone together - but hard as it was the first Thanksgiving without my Gram. We made a few of her fav dishes so it felt like she was with us! I am so grateful for my family and this tag was created as a reminder ...

Creative Scrappers Sketch #256

Hi, I'm back AGAIN - can you believe it?  I recently finished a layout using Creative Scrappers current sketch #256. I love how the sketch was so out of my comfort zone! I wanted my take to be unique but still resemble the sketch! For some reason hexagons popped into my head when I saw the sketch and it finally clicked as I pieced the hexagons together!  I used remnants from an older Noel Mignon Kit called Melrose. Here's the sketch and then my version ...

Project Life: Week 46

Hey Everyone! I'm back again this week with my Project Life page for Week 46. I have to say that constantly capturing the everyday can be challenging. I find myself forgetting to snap a random pic some weeks. Then, other weeks I'm in project life mode! Thank goodness for screen shots, right?!?! Week 46 is a bit photo sparse but I was more vigilant in week 47.

Well, I'm still LOVIN' Maggie Holmes" Flea Market" Mini Core Kit which I used for weeks 46 and 47. The page design I used for week 46 is Design D. Here's the whole page with some close-ups to follow ...

A Fall Layout

I love working with sketches and this month's sketch over on the Noel Mignon blog provided me with a great opportunity to use my latest photos of Joshua. I was so lucky to have him visit me last weekend. Sunday morning we look a little nature walk. There are lots of wooded areas off my backyard and I've had the pleasure of exploring them ever since I moved  here 17 years ago. Joshie found an empty birds nest and we found a nice place to return in. I used Noel's November kit called "Gather Together" for this layout. Here's the page followed by some close-ups ...

Hello fall - Noel Mignon November 2013 Sketch

After fussy cutting the leaves I bent the edges to give them some dimension. I used a paper punch to add the small circles around the leaves. How cool are these burlap thickers - perfect for a Fall layout ...

Something's Sketchy ...

I will never grow tired of scrapbook sketches! I love taking a sketch and putting my own twist on it. Even more, I love to see how others interpret the SAME sketch. Well, Creative Scrappers has done it again with another awesome sketch. Sketch 255 was a blast to work with and it gave me a chance to play with Noel Mignon's November kit called "Gather Together".

Here's the sketch followed by my layout. The photo is of my cousin and I - we are exactly one month apart ...

Project Life: Week 45

This week's project life page is a real FAV of mine for lots of reasons. I used Maggie Holmes "Flea Market" Mini Core Kit and I am in LOVE with this kit. The color palette is gorgeous and the accents of gold feed into my latest obsession with gold!! I also used my lovely vintage typewriter and typed the dates onto the pages. I added some stitching accent on the cards as well. I created a sequins pocket page using OLD sequins from my stash! I used page Design D this week .Here's the entire page followed by some close-ups ...

Project Life: Week 44

Week 44 ... Farewell to October, Welcome November...the commencement of Holiday planning...the celebration of the changing seasons...the sheer fun of Halloween...and, oh yah, the RED SOX!!

This week has been SO JOYFUL thanks to our Amazing RED SOX team!!! How thankful are we this team has aided in our recovery from the trauma of April's events. My PL page this week is a tribute to the Sox, going from "worst to first" to win the World Series. The impact this has had on our City and our personal spirit has been a blessing. The Parade of Champions was exciting and emotional - the end of the parade at the finish line was defining! Boston Strong for sure!!!

So, this week I used the Becky Higgins "Just Add Color" kit with page design "HSN 1". I used neutral cards in the collection and added pops of color and gold to bling it up!! This kit is so versatile - you can create lots of color or keep it more neutral. Here's the entire page ...

IMG_0166

The title page is one of my favs so far ... I used my awesome vintage typewriter on this page. It works like new since I had it restored!!

The pops of gold on the page will allow for a nice transition into my next page which will feature a mini kit from Maggie Holmes called "Flea Market". Her collection has lots of gold accents which will make for a fun page! So, enjoy Week 45 and I'll be back soon with more projects!! Thanks for looking!
