5 for 5 Blog Hop Event: Thanksgiving - Day 5

I'm happy to say that the 5 for 5 Gang is back with another fun Blog Event. Who is the 5 for 5 gang you ask? Well, we are 5 crafty friends getting together and creating 5 Holiday themed projects for 5 consecutive days. Our last Blog Event was Halloween 2015, so we are so excited to be back!! We have a blast creating projects for you and inspiring you to create along with us!! We use whatever we have in our stash and just have fun!
Welcome to Day 5, our last day of the 5 for 5 Blog Hop Event. The event runs from November 9th to November 13th and is Thanksgiving inspired.
Well, I'm kinda sad that this is my last post for this blog hop event. This has been such a fun, creative week and we love sharing our holiday inspired ideas with you.
Today's theme is TEXTURE! I made a mixed media card with tons of texture on it. I started with a stencil and modeling paste and then blended some distress inks over the dried modeling paste. Then I created some cool textured leaves. I die cut leaves from Distress watercolor cardstock and water colored then with distress ink. Then I added some clear rock candy to give the leaves a crackle look. I added some twine and a gold embossed sentiment on vellum. Here's my card ...
I love the clear rock candy effect - here's a close up of the leaves...
Please stop by the rest of the designers blogs and check out their awesome projects.

Welcome to Day 4 of our latest 5 for 5 Blog Hop Event. The event runs from November 9th to November 13th and is Thanksgiving inspired.

Today's theme is TURKEY, of course! I had to use the absolutely adorable Lawn Fawn Turkey Day stamp and die set for my card. I used a Project Life card from November's Noel Mignon Daily Diary kit and placed it on top of a Lawn Fawn notecard. Then I stamped the turkey and some leaves from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves set onto Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock and colored them with alcohol markers and distress inks. Here's my card ...

I added some Distress Glitter Dust to the tips of his feathers for some added sparkle.
Check out the blogs below for more awesome Thanksgiving Day inspired project.

Today's theme is SENTIMENTS ONLY. I will admit - I struggled with this one. I over-thinked, as usual LOL! Then, I kept it simple. I had a partially done tag and simply added the word "today" which I ran through my Minc Machine. I used gold foil and the shine is stunning.

I added some ribbons and done! Please stop by and check out the designers projects today and all week.

Noel Mignon Project Life Mini Album AND 5 for 5 Blog Hop Event: Thanksgiving - Day 2

Today I'm sharing a project I created using this month's Noel Mignon Golden Delicious Daily Diary Kit. I decided to create a mini album using the project life cards in the kit! This week the DT is sharing our Fall Favorites. One of my favorite things about fall is the changing of the trees here in New England. It is breath taking! The fall PL cards in this month's kit showcase my photos perfectly. Here's the cover of my mini ...
I added some die cut shapes, word stickers and stitching to dress up the cover. To see the rest of the album please head over to the Noel Mignon blog for lots of close-ups.

5 for 5 Blog Hop Event: Thanksgiving - Day 1

I'm happy to say that the 5 for 5 Gang is back with another fun Blog Event. Who is the 5 for 5 gang you ask? Well, we are 5 crafty friends getting together and creating 5 Holiday themed projects for 5 consecutive days. Our last Blog Event was Halloween 2015, and we are so excited to be back!! We have a blast creating projects for you and inspiring you to create along with us!! We use whatever we have in our stash and just have fun!
Welcome to Day 1 of our latest 5 for 5 Blog Hop Event. The event runs from November 9th (today) to November 13th and is Thanksgiving inspired.

Each day we will base our projects on a theme. Today's theme is WATERCOLORS.  I created a card using the ADORABLE Lawn Fawn "Thankful Mice" stamps and die set. I thought I would create a tree of cheese and have the adorable mice next to the tree. Here's my card ...
I stamped and die cut several cheeses from Distress Watercolor Cardstock and water colored them with Distress Inks. I water colored the background and the mice with Distress Inks also. For some sparkle I dotted glossy accents onto the sky and sprinkled glitter on them while they were wet.
Here's a close up of the water coloring ...
The star is from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Mirrored Stars and I used Mushroom Alcohol Ink to color it.
Please be sure to sop by all the 5 for 5 designer's blogs today and check out the fun Thanksgiving projects! Hopefully we will inspire you to create some Thanksgiving projects to give or keep for yourself!!

A Golden Delicious Project Life Page

Happy Tuesday! I'm blogging today to share my first project life page using Noel Mignon's November Golden Delicious Daily Dairy Kit. This month's kit is FULL of gorgeous fall themed PL cards, papers and embellishments. I used a smaller page this week and used the PL cards in a non-fall way. Next week I'll highlight more of my fall photos. I wanted to show how versatile these kits are. Here's my page.
I have close-ups of each card on the Noel Mignon Blog. Please stop by and say hi!
Have a great week.

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #18 | Texture

Welcome November! I am loving all the fall photo ops these past few weeks! The trees here in New England have been soooooo pretty! I have posted a bunch of pics on my Instagram account if you'd like to check them out!
A new month always means a new challenge on the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge Blog. This month our challenge is TEXTURE!
The Design Team was so lucky this month as we received a TON of product from IndigoBlu. We received a product called Mega-Flake. When used with a special glue, "FlitterGlu" it creates a gilded look on just about any surface. I used a pretty IndigoBlu butterfly stamp, pounced some glue on the stamp and stamped it on heavy white cardstock. Then I sprinkled the mega-flake all over the stamped image, pressed it in with my fingers making sure all the tacky places of the stamped image were covered with the flake. With a special sponge, I scraped off the excess flake and ended up with several gilded butterflies for my cards.
Each butterfly came out different and even though it was quite messy and sticky, I LOVE the results!! Here's some close-ups ...
For this card I used a wood grain card base, texted vellum and beads for the butterfly's body for texture!
For my second card I embossed a kraft card base and used a doily for texture ...

Thanks so much to our sponsor this month!! Check out their website for some unique stamps, mega-flakes and more products!!!
We hope you will join us in this month's challenge! IndigoBlu is offering a great prize so get your craft on and join us for a chance to win!!
Have a great week and I'll see you soon. I have lots to share this month!
