Project Life: Week 39

Week 39 ... the start of Fall.

I used Becky Higgin's Honey Core Kit and Design F page protector for this week's page. This week is less "silly" than last week and is a daily highlight of my week. I used mostly grey cards from the kit and added pops of orange with photos and embellishments. I tapped away on my vintage typewriter for the journaling. Here's the entire page ...

And here are the close-ups ... I love weather screen shots and I turned this one into black and white to coordinate better with the grey cards. I attached the pretty orange flower to the outside of the page protector.

Coffee is a must on my Monday mornings and this smiley face was a nice touch ... Thank-you nice person at Dunkin Donuts!

IMG_0158

Happy Mail - I can't wait to dig into this new PL kit "Just add Color" - the kit contains 4x6, 4x4 AND 2x2 cards AND stickers that match the collection ... and, of course, loved the Nashville Premiere!!

You gotta love this time of year for all the NEW T.V. shows and The Big Bang Theory is right at the top of my list.

And the final section ... More pumpkins and a final quote ...

Thanks for sharing my week with me and I'm off to work on a sketch. Have a great week 40!!

An End of Summer Layout

Good Morning Bloggers - hope you are doing well on this lovely Tuesday! I am trying to accept that "Summah" is "ovah" - like I have a choice, right?!?!  So, this weekend I worked on a summery layout to keep the season alive!! I used Noel Mignon's September Kit "Miss Nelson".  Seriously, you MUST check out these kits ... they are L O A D E D with product and embellies! Noel also has a Project Life kit that coordinates with the main kit - so between the two, you can create tons of layouts!! I had this picture of an adorable lab at the beach COVERED in sand and I had to scrap it. I used four 3.5 x 3.5 squares of patterned paper and went from there. I love the soft color combination of these papers ...

Insta love

The "love" part of the title is created with paper twine - I used glue dots as I went along ...

IMG_0158

I used my vintage typewriter to type up some journaling strips - how easy and I must admit, I love the sound of the keys hitting the paper. I clustered a doily and some stickers under the photo and a flair button over the photo for interest ...

IMG_0164

Well, I'm off to work on a PL page - it will be more "serious" than my last PL page - which was total silliness - but it was fun! I will be back later this week to share. Hope you have a creative week! Thanks for stopping by - I'd love to hear any comments!!

Project Life - Week 38

Week 38 - what to do... well, I went the silly route this week! September is great for all the exciting premieres of our favorite TV shows and series! I am a reality TV kinda gal and "Survivor" is my all time favorite. I watch it faithfully every season - there, I've admitted it!! So this week is devoted to Survivor. This season is "Blood vs Water" and the first episode was awesome. Here's my page ...

Here's some close-ups ... starting with the title card. I used the Honey Core Kit by Becky Higgins ...

Creative Scrappers is back!

I'm so happy that Creative Scrappers has returned! I have always loved sketches and I especially love the freedom to use whatever products I have to create with. Creative Scrappers latest reveal did not disappoint - the sketch is adorable and the circle and star elements can be interpreted in so many ways. Here's a peek at the sketch ...

Creative_Scrappers_251

I used a Tim Holtz Stencil and modeling paste to create the circles/stars elements. The stencil is the new Splatters Stencil which I will definitely use often. I used my latest Noel Mignon Kit - the September Miss Nelson kit which is LOADED with products!! Here's my take on the sketch and a few close-ups ...

A Great weekend and Project Life - Week 37

How is it Monday again already? The weekend is WAY TOO SHORT. I had a great Saturday though. I learned how to change my own backup light - with some major help from my Dad. It only cost $7.50 to do it ourselves! Way cool,eh?! Then my Mom and I went to get some Mums - I shared most of those photos on FB already. Then, we went to Jakes's in Hull, Ma. - a great seafood place on the water across from Paragon Park at Nantasket Beach. There's very little of Paragon Park left but the Carousel remains intact and working. I will definitely be creating some layouts with the photos I took of the historic carousel horses. I'm actually working on one now!

I finished my PL page for week 37 and here's the page with some close-ups ..

My title page includes a very old transparency pocket from Creative Imaginations ...

IMG_0156

Gotta love a weather screen shot!

IMG_0158

My day in Hull was the highlight of my week, but this LOVELY vintage typewriter takes a very close second! I even found a restoration place so I can get it in tip top shape!

It has been 12 years since Sept. 11th. This week has been a reflective one as well and I still think of the senseless losses and tremendous effect this day has had on all of us ...

Have a great week and see you soon! Thanks for stopping by!

More FUN with Graphic 45

Happy Saturday Everyone! Welcome weekend! I'm off to Norwell today to spend the day with my parents and celebrate my Mom's B-Day. We are heading to Hull for a nice dinner and hopefully I'll get some picture of Nantasket Beach if the weather cooperates.

As promised I have some pics of the Printer's Tray that I created with Graphic 45's Mother Goose collection. The printers tray is from 7 Gypsies and is perfect for the 4 x 6 sections of the collection. I used the leftover papers that I had from my layouts that I previously posted. Here's the tray along with some close-ups ..

Wouldn't this make a great gift for a nursery or little one's room? It was fun to make and the only thing I would do-over is the gold chipboard keys ...not lovin' them!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!!

Project Life - Week 36

I'm getting a bit quicker with Project Life process. Taking more pictures is the key ... Here's week 36 ...

IMG_0082

Photographing the cards out of the page protectors helps with the glare. Here's a close-up of the cards ...

IMG_0085

Doilies make a great accent as well as ticket stubs. I included a recap of the week - not an exciting life but it's my everyday ... I'm also lovin' the date stamp.

IMG_0092

Finally receiving my passport was definitely the highlight of my week ...

IMG_0095

My daily commute ... this is a big change from my previous job which was more local. It is well worth it though because I have a great group to work with!! Some changes in life are initially diffucult but so worth the effort!

IMG_0094

A little layering below - LOVE layering!!!!!

IMG_0083

And finally - poor Max going to the Vet for a recheck!

IMG_0090

Well that's week 36. Have a great week and take lots of pictures.

Monday Monday ...

Yep, it's Monday again! Back to work, back to the routine. I'm very luck to work with a great group - we have lots of laughs and work well together with no drama! It's a blessing actually!

On a "cool score" note: I had a fun weekend including scoring a great vintage typewriter from my Mom. It's a beauty and it still works. The "N" sticks but otherwise is fine. I really want to get it restored - it's so worth it!!

IMG_1606

On a pet note: Max, my 12 year old cat, who was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, went for a 2 month check-up over the weekend. He's doing great and was such a good sport. He had more bloodwork and a blood pressure check. He gained over a pound and looks so much better! He needs a pill twice daily for the rest of his life and all I can say is ... AMEN to pill pockets!!

On a crafty note: I have a few layouts to share using Graphic 45's new collection "Mother Goose". I created two layouts with the collection - one showcasing the collections childhood theme. The adorable picture is courtesy of a great friend and is of her daughter and her mother at Storyland ...

IMG_0057

The second layout shows how the collection can be used in a non-Mother Goose themed way ... this is Katelynn my niece's daughter ...

IMG_0056

I also decorated a printer's tray with the leftovers from the two layouts which I will share later this week! Have a great week and I'll be back soon!! Hope you enjoy and make the most of your routine.

Project Life is taking life!

So, I'm finally in project life mode. It's quite a slow process for me now, but I'm sure it will pick up as I go along. I'm looking forward to more products that coordinate with my core kit which will enhance my pages! My FAV part of the process is the ability to print photos from my iphone wirelessly - either with my new Canon Pixma or from this lovely ... my Canon Selphy ...

IMG_1542

The dye sublimation process creates amazing prints, immediately fingerprint free and waterproof! You can get about 36 prints from one cartridge but the ease and portability is so worth it!!

Here's my first page using the "Honey" Core Kit by Becky Higgins and my own embellies. I started with the end of August so I could document the Countryfest Concert at Gillette Stadium ...

IMG_1558

My next two pages focus on my studio. These pages have more journaling and more photos. The process ...

IMG_1570

Here's the pages ...

Project life 2013 copy

I'm still working on photographing these pages in page protectors and avoiding the glare of the protectors ... any tips ? let me know!! Enjoy the rest of the week and I'll be back soon with some new tags and layouts!!

Holiday + Rain = Studio Time!

Happy Labor Day Everyone! Rain is forecasted here in my neck of the woods for the next few days making it PERFECT for some studio time!! I spent yesterday in Norwell helping my parents with projects around the house and today will be crafty time. I have my new end tables in the studio and love them ... they are distressed and so cool. My loveseat is old and outdated so I'm hoping to replace that with next year's tax return. Here's a look - I added some colorful pillows too ... and the dog toys are Simba's FAV's ...

IMG_1548

I also created more ATC's with Splash of Color's collage sheets and here's a look at them ... I love how cute the vintage girls are ...
