A Productive Weekend!

Hope you all had a fun Memorial Day Weekend. Mine was quiet once the Simba Drama subsided ... she is tired but doing GREAT!!

I was been so nice to have four days off in a row - I can't believe how productive I've been. To have the dedicated time in my studio has made me so happy. I am back to work tomorrow and Thursday and then off to Virginia Friday through Monday to complete the funeral service for my Grandmother. She requested to be cremated with her remains divided between Massachusetts and Virginia, where her roots are very strong! It will be nice to reunite with my southern family and celebrate her amazing life!

I wanted to share another layout I did using Noel Mignon's "Country Lane" kit. This is my fourth layout and I have product left! Here's my page and I can't get enough of these Thickers by Dear Lizzy ...

The best laid plans ...

Well, yesterday didn't go as planned, but it ended well. My 12 year old dog was sick - vomited five times followed by a visit to the Vet. She is wiped out today but doing better. She had acute gastritis, unknown cause. After SubQ fluids and an anti-nausea injection she settled down and is holding food down. The Vet we saw I worked with when I was a Vet Tech so I was relieved he was on duty! Today we are laying low and in the studio!

Last night I put this layout together using my Noel Mignon Kit - "Country Lane". This is my third layout with this kit and I still have more products left! With a new kit waiting I want to finish using this kit but start the new one at the same time!! So many decisions LOL! Anyway, here 's my layout and some close-ups ... the butterflies were attached in an ombre pattern ...

ATC - Favorite Movie

Well, my arty weekend was awesome! I've shared some pics on FB and I can honestly say I learned a ton and can't wait to finish up some backgrounds with newly learned techniques! Thanks Dina Wakley for a great artful weekend!

I just returned from my ATC Swap Group at Right at Home Scrapbooking and our theme for this month was our FAV movie!! There are way too many to choose from so I went with my current FAV as opposed to a classic. I am hooked on the Twilight movies - these are definitely not everyone's favorite, but definitely are mine! Here's my ATC ...

I had some fun dripping red paint onto the card and added a script stamp which I painted with gesso! This one was fun and makes me want to watch a Twilight Movie! Have a great week and I'll be back soon!

An Arty Weekend!!

This has been a busy week... work has been busy and it has been an even busier crafty week as well.

Thursday night I was part of a F U N class with Dina Wakley as she guided us through her process of creating silhouettes - one of my new art addictions! We created several pages and a mini book. I posted my pages on FB today and the colors are gorgeous! My creative journay with the lovely Dina continues tomorrow with an all day class and more techniques - I will post pics tomorrow!!! I now have great ideas for some of the background pages in my art journals waiting to be completed!!

I am also teaching my first art journal class this Sunday May 19th at my LSS Right at Home Scrapbooking and we should have fun gettin' quite inky!! Looking forward to it!! After teaching, I have an ATC class where our theme is our FAV movie and I'll share what I created.

I am also lucky to have a layout featured in this month's Scrapbooking and Beyond magazine featuring my favorite layout from CHA Winter 2013 using Christine Adolph's "Cherish" collection. Here's the layout ...

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! Hope you all have a special day with Family and Friends!!

I have a new addiction - Doll Stamps! As a child I wasn't much of a doll lover - I preferred stuffed animals, which later lead to a fulfilling career as a Veterinary Technician - I truely felt like it was my calling and I was good at my job!  Then life changed and I needed more income so I switched gears to Ultrasonography. Through this job I met women who scrapbooked and found a new passion. My scrapbooking lead to mixed media which has lead to more stamping than I have ever done. When I saw the Julie Nutting's Mixed Media Doll Stamps I grabbed the last three in my LSS Right at Home Scrapbooking! I have been creating oversized tags with them and am now a bit addicted! Here's my first one ...

I will be teaching a class soon at RAH and we will create two tags similar to this, including a smaller one with a different stamp! The different ways to create the backgrounds are endless and they would make great gift tags or an accent to a scrapbook page! I will post more pics when we have class details!

Have a great Mother's Day and I'll be back soon!!

Hexagon LOVE!

I am back to work this week after a wonderful weekend crop for National Scrapbook Weekend hosted by Right at Home Scrapbooking.I actually finished a few projects including some ATC's for our next swap! Here's a layout I worked on for my Gram's Album. I used papers by Teresa Collins and the photo is of me and my Gram when I was just born ... (a few years ago LOL!!)

IMG_0022

I have been wanting to create a layout using hexagons for a while now and I'm glad I did - I love the simplicity of the design. I popped up a few of
the hexagons to give the layout dimension ...

IMG_0025

I added lots of word stickers and embellishments under and over the side of the photo (oops I should have cropped out the date ... now you all know I'm OLD!! )

IMG_0027

Well, I'll be back with more projects this week. Hope you have a great week.
