12 Tags of 2015 | February

Hello Bloggers! Good Sunday to you! Hope you are having a great weekend whatever you are up to!
I am continuing to share my catch up of Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2015. Today I'm sharing February's tag.

The background is a patchwork inspired collage. I used scraps from  February's Simon Says Stamp card kit which was perfect for the Valentine's Day theme. Here's my version ...

I love all the metal embellishments. I applied Picket Fence distress paint to the metal embellishments to tone them down. My favorite part of this tag is the messy stitching on the felt heart.

The splashes of gorgeous gold were flicked on with a paint brush and watered down "Gilt" paint - a new heavy body paint from Dina Wakley!! Supplies I used to create my tag are listed below.
So, that leaves January's tag and I'm caught up and ready for June's tag! I will be back Tuesday with January's tag. Tomorrow is Mixed Media Monthly's One Year Anniversary and I'll be sharing a cute canvas I created. We have lots of guest designers so be sure to stoop by!! See you tomorrow!!

12 Tags of 2015 | March

Happy Saturday! It's so nice to have a few days off, especially after a hectic Friday at work. Fortunately, I work with some great friends that are real team players. They make even a hectic day fun. I can't tell you how awesome that is!!
I wanted to continue sharing my 12 Tags of 2015. I am so excited to be caught up. I even finished my January tag a few nights ago. My past crafty weekend inspired me to finish all of them and now I'm ready to create June's tag as soon as Tim reveals it!! Next up is March's Tag. So far this one is my favorite.

I love how bright and vibrant this tag is and the black butterfly pops off the tag. And the gold - LOVE the gold!! Here's my tag ...

I love the techniques we used on this tag and Tim makes it so easy with his step by step tutorial. We used distress paints to create a gorgeous background. The butterfly was stamped and then embossed and then masked off. Next came the gorgeous gold embossing over texture paste that was applied through a stencil over the tag, except where we masked off the butterfly.

Then we added lots of embellishments. I chose the metal number 3 to represent my three pets. Sadly I now have two pets but I had the same three for 13 years.

I love the mini gears and the word band. I am so happy how this turned out and it tops the list of my FAV - so far!!! Thanks for stopping by. I have a handy supply list below if you'd like to create this tag! Enjoy your Saturday and I'll be back tomorrow with February's tag. See you soon!!
