A Spooktacular Month

Happy October! I say this a lot, but time is flying by. This month is going to be super busy craft wise, so you'll be seeing lots from me on my blog! This month is a fun time to be creative with Halloween right around the creepy corner. It's freeing to just be silly and crazy when creating, using bright, bold colors that ordinarily may not be in your color palette. Stay tuned for some fun projects.
The first of every month brings a new challenge on the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge Blog. This month's challenge is based on a Spooktacular Word Search - find a word or words and incorporate them into your project. Easy, right?
I decided to create a tag and I incorporated several words from the word search into my project. Here's my tag ...
I recently purchased Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous "Undertaker" Stamp Set and couldn't wait to use it! I used some new Grumbacher acrylic paints and India Ink to create the background. Once dry, I used a Tim Holtz Shatter Stencil and dabbed white paint through the stencil to create a web effect.
I chose the larger of the two skulls that are included in this awesome stamp set. I stamped the image on mixed media paper and colored the face with Ranger's newest distress color "Wilted Violet". This purple color is PERFECT for Halloween projects. You will see me use this color alot this month!! I had fun with the undertaker's eyes using Idea-ology gumdrops and a mini gear to add interest.
Our guest designer this month is Alexandra Heine, a Grumbacher mixed media artist. Her project is stunning so stop by our blog to see her work!
Our sponsor this month is Grumbacher.
They generously gave the Design Team a few products to play with this month. Their acrylic paints are great and we also received a set of woodless colored pencils which I can't wait to experiment with. They are offering a prize this month so be sure to join us in our fun challenge for a chance to win - more details on the MMMC blog!
Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back with much more fun this month!!! Happy October!!

Apologies for the lateness of my comment. The Undertaker is my current favourite Halloween stamp and I love that you used the Wilted Violet on yours, it really does suit him and the gum drops are perfect for his eyes - spooky but not too scary. Love the gorgeous colour you used in the background too. Anne x
